Work with out of department colleagues to help your students acquire essential literacy and numeracy skills
Literacy and numeracy skills are not the sole responsibility of English and maths departments. Secondary school chemistry students must also learn and apply these skills in the science classroom. In this article, an English teacher shares their thoughts on how collaboration between departments can help smooth the learning process for pupils to give them the best opportunity to acquire the relevant skills across the curriculum.
